What We're Thankful For
Posted on 24 November 2016
This Thanksgiving I'm thankful to God for my business. Not just on Thanksgiving but everyday. I am thankful that God that he has allowed me to be able to do what I love, because many people live their life never being able to say that.
I want to say thank you to you - our amazing customers. Our customers are the reason why we are in business and everything we do centers around you and helping you to look great at all of your events. I am are thankful for 1) still being in business after almost 5 years and 2) our growth over the past 5 years. Some of you were with us when we started out of a storage facility in Chicago. (Yes, a storage facility). We decorated one unit like a fitting room and another was filled with racks of dresses. Despite having an unconventional space, women still came there and tried on dresses! From there we moved to a unit inside of Lacuna Lofts, a vibrant and artsy building in Chicago's eclectic Pilsen
neighborhood. We were ecstatic that we were out of our storage facility, but others, not so much. One Google reviewer un-happily said our store was literally "the size of a small bedroom". Honestly, it was, but you have to start somewhere so we were happy to have it! In 2015, we expanded our space and now have more room for dresses, accessories and fitting rooms. Owning a business is hard, but it is so rewarding to provide a service that I strongly felt was needed, but missing for women. We also love to be able to give jobs to young women in Pilsen and south side Chicago community (and to be able to keep our business in our community). I am also thankful for my family and freinds who have supported my business along the way. I truly could not done it them!
Me, and The Frock Shop family wishes you a peaceful and happy Thanksgiving!
